Rørt was founded by Jean-Michel Deleuran in 2019 with the ambition to challenge the status quo of traditional Danish smørrebrød — and give it the revival it deserves.
At Rørt, we let the vegetables take center stage and love experimenting and exploring new flavors inspired by cuisines from all over the world.

It all started at Copenhagen’s annual Street Food Around the Lakes festival, where Rørt made its debut alongside more than 60 other food concepts. What began as an experiment quickly turned into something bigger: Rørt was named Best Concept of the Year.
That recognition gave us the confidence to take the next step. Soon after, we opened our first permanent location at Torvehallerne — turning a bold festival idea into a growing smørrebrød concept with several locations in Copenhagen.
